AOA 2010 - 12 days to go

As we get closer and closer to the AOA, things begin to take shape. Delegates have been confirmed and contacted. A draft Agenda has been circulated to those attending and those participating from afar. People are preparing for the meeting by reading the documents that are posted on the secure website and some are discussing it all with members in their area. Speakers are reviewing their presentations.

Our facilitator is busy organizing the format of the discussions, while staff is preparing all the small details, the set-up of the meeting room, the breaks, the materiel to be shared on-site, the technical details regarding coomunications and so much more that goes on behind the scenes.

Most of all, we're thinking about Development and Peace and we're looking towards the future, with questions and challenges, but also with hope and excitement.

  1. How will information be circulated to members who will not be attending the AOA?

  2. I also ask the the same question as Paul? For those who would like to participate via internet how will this take place? I see from the note above more materials including the agenda is now in print. Where can someone not attending in person obtain these items?

  3. As a delegate for my diocese who will be participating at a distance, I am disappointed by the lack of comments within this blog. If this process is to work effectively, then we need to have some fertile comments and responses so that a meaningful dialogue is created. I look forward to more comments since we are now only4 days away!

  4. Diocesan delegates have access to material through a secure website. Everybody registered as a delegate, either virtual or on-site should have received this information. They will also participate in a teleconference workshop with people on-site. Finally, there is the blog which is open to everyone. We have two staff who will be blogging throughout the AOA, sharing regular updates all day on what is being discussed and collecting the feed-back from the blog for the plenary discussions. We're still learning and practicing but yes, please do make the most of these tools so we can keep developing our collective capacity and learn to speak with each other and contribute in new ways.
